At The Home Of The Stars
Cardell's, a cafeteria opposite the Brattle Theater,
was dubbed "The Home of the Stars" by Peter Wolf.
It was a cheap eating and meeting place for Square people.
Seen here is Jonathan Richman, leader of The Modern Lovers,
who were the bridge from The Velvet Underground to the
punk bands of the '70s. Two of the Lovers were Harvard students,
Ernie Brooks and Jerry Harrison. Jerry later played keyboards with
Talking Heads. Drummer David Robinson played with The Cars.
Jonathan was featured in the film "There's Something About Mary."
